As an emerging artist with very little capital, I took it upon myself to learn how to use a camera in order to begin my image archive and document the progression of my art. Twenty years ago, my interest for the craft of photography was born out of the need to photograph the objects I was making. My photography is now an essential part of all of my varied interests and passions, however it began with taking pictures of paintings.
Photographic documention of fine art and craftwork is key to tracking the artist's or artisan's evolution and development. Not only is it essential for archiving purposes, a person's work can be disseminated to the intended audience more quickly and efficiently.
